Restored with red frame, license plate – PM-15 840 43" high x 69" long (used as wall art) 22" wide handlebars Manufactured by: The Motoleggera 65 was manufactured by Moto Guzzi’s Spanish subsidiary, Motor Hispaña SA of Barcelona. Two-strokes did not feature in the MotoGuzzi range until after WWII, when the successful Motoleggera 65 put a whole generation of Italians on two wheels. As Italy emerged from the chaos of war, the insatiable demand for basic transportation was met by cyclemotors, scooters and lightweight motorcycles which had little impact on the domestic market. Introduced in 1946, the Motoleggera was by far the most successful, selling by the tens of thousands with 70,000 produced between 1946 – 1954. Ultra-light and powered by a 64cc disc valve two-stroke engine, driving an integral three-speed gearbox and carried in a simple tubular spine frame, rear suspension swinging-arm and blade type girder fork. It changed little over the eight years since it was introduced.
